TRAFFIC SAFETY SERVICES COORDINATOR

PURPOSE:

To have one primary NYSACOP representative who is responsible for overall traffic safety related operations, programs, and services. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, COMPENSATION and FUNCTIONS:

  • Must be a retired member of law enforcement, with extensive traffic safety operational and administrative experience, and will serve as an independent contractor to the Association.
  • Work thirty (30) hours per week, at a pay rate of $52.00 per hour and be reimbursed for all qualifying travel and commodities expenses.  No other fringe or other financial benefits are included.
  • Work location considered remotely out of office as determined by the NYSACOP Executive Director.
  • Serve as the Grant Project Director and be responsible for all related administrative tasks, e.g. submission of Governor Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) mandated reports.
  • Provide support and resources for the NYSACOP Traffic Safety Committee, Traffic Safety Outreach Liaison (TSOL) program and the NYSACOP/GTSC Law Enforcement Liaison.
  • Coordinate overall traffic safety services and programs for the Association and serve as the primary contact between the NYSACOP Board Governors/Executive Director and GTSC.
  • With appropriate advance notification, attend GTSC and NYSACOP staff meetings or other meetings at the request of GTSC or NYSACOP leadership.
  • With appropriate advance notification, attend local, regional, statewide, and out of state traffic safety meetings and conferences.
  • Conduct member agency site visits in coordination with the TSOL’s, GTSC LEL’s and GTSC program reps.
  • Serve on Committees as requested by GTSC or NYSACOP leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the NYSACOP Executive Director.

 

** This is a Federal/State Funded grant funded position through September 30, 2026 and continuation is contingent upon pending approval of the FFY 2027 grant application.
