MAGNUS OVEA 2-Day Leadership Workshop - Saratoga County

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services in collaboration with the National Command and Staff College is pleased to announce the offering of the MAGNUS OVEA 2-day workshop. The theory of MAGNUS OVEA was developed by Dr. Mitch Javidi, with over 40 years of academic, corporate, public safety and military experience to serve as an inspiring and motivational Leadership Foundation course designed to uplift personnel across all ranks.

The workshop seeks to enhance well-being, leadership, performance, and cultivate resilience to unlock the full potential of human performance. Attendees will learn keys to unlocking their full potential that takes them from mediocrity to greatness supported by empirical research and evidence-based practices from a wide array of scientific disciplines

Saratoga County, NY - January 22 - 23, 2026

Instructional topics include:

  • Developing skills in adapting to rapid change and navigating a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environment, particularly within public safety professions;
  • Exploring neurobiological techniques and strategies to bolster mental toughness, anti-fragility, and well-being, reducing risks and liabilities in high-stress situations; and,
  • Acquiring practical tools and insights derived from human behavior science and tested among public safety and military operators to enhance daily leadership effectiveness and resilience.

There is no course fee to attend.  Enrollment for this training session is limited. All interested parties must register with DCJS in order to be considered for a seat. Registering for the program does not guarantee a spot in the program. Those selected to attend will be notified 2 weeks prior to the first training
