Strategic Leadership & Succession Planning

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, Office of Public Safety, is pleased to announce a comprehensive new training offering focused on strategic leadership for long-term organizational success. This interactive workshop is specifically designed to assist executive-level staff in developing robust mentoring and succession planning strategies that ensure departments establish sustainable, long-term plans for leadership development.

The program equips leaders with the tools to create effective mentoring frameworks, design comprehensive succession plans, and establish systematic approaches to developing talent at all levels of their organization. Attendees will explore strategies for identifying and nurturing emerging leaders while preserving institutional knowledge and culture.

By investing in this training, organizations will be better prepared to reduce leadership gaps during transitions, strengthen organizational resilience, and ensure continuity of mission-critical operations. This program is ideal for chiefs, deputy chiefs, sheriffs, undersheriffs, executive directors, division commanders, and other executive-level public safety leaders committed to building lasting leadership pipelines within their departments.
