Guardian Leadership Development Program Erie County
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services in cooperation with Guardian Leadership is pleased to announce a three-part leadership development series for New York State law enforcement leaders. The Guardian Leadership Development Program consists of three courses that build on each other. During these interactive workshops, you will learn key concepts and proven principles that will increase your influence, improve your effectiveness, and multiply your impact.
Guardians Path Program Layout
The Guardians Path Leadership Program consists of 6 days of training spread out over three separate in-person training sessions. Attendance at all three sessions is a mandatory requirement to be able to attend the program. The required trainings are as follows:
- Course One: “Developing the Leader Within”
- September 12–13, 2024
- During this interactive workshop, you will learn key concepts and proven principles that will increase your influence, improve your effectiveness, and multiply your impact. You will discover ways to lead yourself and others more effectively, along with in-depth activities designed to help develop the leader within you.
- Course Two: “Developing the Leaders Around You”
- October 24-25, 2024
- During this interactive workshop, you will learn key concepts and proven principles that will enhance your ability to coach, mentor, and equip those you lead. Our interactive exercises will provide you with the skills to help identify and develop the leaders around you. You will discover ways to inspire, motivate and influence others to enhance their leadership growth.
- Course Three: “Developing a Culture of Leadership Excellence”
- November 14-15, 2024
- During this interactive workshop, you will learn how to intentionally foster a positive culture that inspires and empowers team members to achieve organizational goals. This workshop demystifies the culture building process and provides you with a step-by-step method for creating an environment where trust flourishes, problems get solved and expectations are exceeded.
All three trainings will be held in Erie County
Registration Process & Pre-Requisites
Seating in this program is limited. All interested parties must register with DCJS in order to be considered for a seat. Registering for the program does not guarantee a spot in the program. Those selected to attend will be notified 2-3 weeks prior to the first training.
Those interested in applying must be a law enforcement official with the rank of Sergeant or higher within their agency. Applying officers should also have supervisory responsibilities of staff within their agency. All officers who are selected to attend are required to partake in all three phases of the program.
