This free one-day eight-hour course will educate officers on the unique and complicated body of New York law pertaining to street encounters. The course will focus on common situations officers face on the street and the law pertaining to consent, traffic stops, frisks, and select warrantless searches. Taught by subject matter expert Michael Ranalli (Chief (Ret.), Glenville, NY, Police Department), officers will leave with the confidence to know what the law allows for their actions to be both legitimate and legal.
