NYS Governors Traffic Safety Committee Grant Funded Position
October 1, 2023 – September 30, 2024

TITLE of POSITION: NYSACOP/GTSC Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL)


  • Responsible for assisting in the traffic safety mission of the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police in coordination with the Governors Traffic Safety Committee.


  • Have extensive background in the administration and operations of traffic safety services.


  • The employee assigned to this position shall be a contractor of NYSACOP. He/she will work at the Governors Traffic Safety Committee Offices at Empire State Plaza, Albany, NY.


  • Will be a contractor for the NYSACOP and work directly for the NYSACOP Traffic Safety Services Coordinator
  • Provide staff support to the Traffic Safety Services Coordinator and the Traffic Safety Committee Chair
  • Perform duties and services within the GTSC office including but not limited to grant review, assist agencies with grant preparation.
  • Travel to various locations throughout the state for traffic safety related meetings & conferences, all related expenses are reimbursed monthly.
  • Conduct law enforcement agency site visits with grantees and potential grantees to assist them with securing and maintaining GTSC grants.
  • Conduct NYSACOP member agency and non-member agency site visits alone or with other NYSACOP and/or GTSC staff members.
  • With appropriate advance notification, attend GTSC / NYSACOP staff meetings or other meetings at the request of GTSC / NYSACOP leadership.
  • Serve on traffic safety related committees as requested by NYSACOP Traffic Safety Services Coordinator.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the NYSACOP Traffic Safety Services Coordinator.


  • Work an average of thirty hours per week @ $45.00 per hour, annually up to $70,200.00. There are no fringe benefits associated with this position.
